Ludara for iPhone
Ludara is a video game catalogue. Search thousands of games, read what they are about, and keep the ones that matter in a vault stored on your device.
Something not working, or a question the page below does not answer? Write to apps@alfonsogarcia.dev.
Where the game information comes from
From IGDB, a community-maintained database of video games. Descriptions, artwork, release dates, ratings and platform lists are all theirs.
That means an occasional gap or oddity in the data is IGDB's to fix rather than the app's — a missing cover, a description in the wrong language, or the same game listed twice under slightly different names. IGDB accepts corrections from anyone with an account.
Why is there no sign-up?
Because there is nothing to sign up to. Ludara has no server holding anything about you. Your vault, your name and your picture live on your device.
The trade-off is worth stating plainly: nobody can lose your data, and nobody can restore it either.
What happens to my collection if I delete the app?
It goes with it. There is no copy anywhere to bring it back.
Your vault is part of your device's own backup, so it survives moving to a new phone or restoring from iCloud. What it does not survive is deleting the app or clearing its data.
Sometimes no games load. Why?
If the app says your connection works but the game service cannot be reached, that is usually not your device.
Ludara fetches game data through a small service of its own. Some internet providers in Spain block the address ranges it sits on at certain times of day, as collateral damage from unrelated blocking orders. When that happens the app says so rather than blaming your connection, and it starts working again on its own.
Waiting is the fix. A mobile connection instead of home wi-fi often works while a block is in effect.
A game I saved looks out of date
Saved games keep a copy of everything — description, screenshots, ratings, platforms — so they can be read with no connection at all. That copy is taken when you save the game and is not refreshed on its own.
Open the game and use the refresh button at the top to fetch it again.
Reporting a problem
Write to apps@alfonsogarcia.dev. What helps most:
- What you were doing when it happened
- What you expected, and what happened instead
- The version number, from Profile → About at the bottom of the screen
- A screenshot, if there was something to see
Ludara is made by one person in their own time, so replies are not instant. Every message is read.
